November favourites
Starting with haircare and this month it was all about Dove oxygen moisture range. Designed for fine flat hair which lacks moisture this couldn't have been more perfect for me. All 3 products are infused with oxygen for that lightweight feel and rinse away easily with water so as to not weigh down the hair. The shampoo lathers up easily without irritating the scalp and the souffle treatment in particular is very hydrating, leaving my hair soft and tangle free. With such long hair I haven't noticed a huge difference in volume, but compared to other shampoos my hair definitely has more bounce post wash and because it's such a gentle and affordable range, perfect for everyday use.
For those in between days I couldn't be without a dry shampoo and this month I've been loving the new Batiste care and vitality dry shampoo. It's got the same oil absorbing and volumising properties we all know and love, but with the addition of mandarin oil so it helps to look after the hair too. Another thing to mention is that it smells absolutely beautiful and the every time I use it, the combination of white blossom, lychee, amber, lily and musk always reminds me of my much loved Emporio Armani diamonds perfume.
November favourites - Clarins lotus face treatment oil
For skincare there was only one product this month - Clarins lotus face treatment oil. For years I've struggled with an oily t-zone and dehydrated cheeks, but thanks to Clarins I feel like I've finally found a product which tackles both problems at the same time without aggravating the other. Made with rosewood, geranium and lotus extracts it's specifically designed for combination skin. As with most oils my skin immediately felt nourished on application and within a week of use it had become more balanced and my T-zone far less oily during the day. It takes a little while to sink in so I like to save this for night time use only but the blend of essential oils is so relaxing and I love taking the time to really massage this into the skin.
November favourites - Maxfactor and Bourjois
For low maintenance lips I've been loving Bourjois rouge edition velvet in Happy nude year. It's a really beautiful rose pink shade which goes on matte and leaves behind a long lasting stain, perfect if you don't like to top up during the day. Applied lightly it's super flattering and adds just enough colour to brighten up the face without being too obvious. Out of habit I like to layer on balm during the day but it's by no means a drying formula and actually feels very comfortable on the lips.
Finally I've been embracing the fact that I can now wear nail varnish at work and can't get enough of these Maxfactor gel shine lacquers. Opaque in just one coat these are super glossy and smooth on the nails. They really do look like gels and the formula is relatively long lasting too. Shown above are Twinking pink a bright fuchsia and Glazed cobalt a royal blue, which given that I don't normally like blues has turned out to be a surprising new favourite. I've now got my eyes on radiant ruby and sparkling berry, both of which would be perfect for the cold winter months.
Have you tried any of the products above? What are your November favourites?
