Daily make up essentials

As much as I like to experiment with make up, I like my beauty sleep more - after all early in the morning those extra few minutes in bed make all the difference. Because of this for my everyday make up I like to use products which are quick and easy to apply, long lasting and make a real difference in terms of the overall look. Here are my current favourites:

Maybelline brow drama and baby lips swatch 

Starting with Maxfactor facefinity primer and Bourjois CC cream which work together to make the perfect base. Unlike most other primers, Maxfactor facefinity is so light and fluid in texture that it can be applied in a matter of seconds. I then blend in Bourjois CC cream with my fingers, which helps to even out the skin tone and give a naturally matte but still radiant finish to the skin. Used together I find my base lasts well throughout the day and I only need to touch up with a light dusting of powder in the afternoon.

Another favourite has to be the newly launched Maybelline brow drama in dark brown. Prior to this I would never bother with my eyebrows on a daily basis. However the mascara style wand makes it so easy to use and dark gel just helps to add that extra touch of definition and colour. To use I simply comb through to shape my eyebrows, then add more product where it's needed before brushing through once more to ensure an even natural finish throughout. There's no flaking or smudging and I find that once set my brows stay in place all day.

Finally there's Maybelline baby lips in cherry me which has now become a handbag staple. As the name suggests it's a gorgeous berry pink shade which adds a pop of colour and doubles up nicely as a hydrating lip balm. Plus it's got the most beautiful fruity sweet scent. I wouldn't bother with a lipstick for work, but I regularly touch up with a balm during the day and this adds just the right amount of colour without being too obvious and gives a nice polished feel to the overall look.
