London fashion week - Eugene Lin SS14

There's nothing like an international event to make you appreciate living in a such a wonderful city and for me London fashion week has always been such a highlight. This season, I was once again given the chance to go backstage and sit on the front row for Eugene Lin, one of my favourite designers at Fashion scout:

Make up was once again sponsored by The Body Shop and head make up artist Lan Nguyen-Grealis was kind enough to talk us through the inspiration and key products for the look. The idea was to create something that was androgynous and military, but still very modern and with a touch of prettiness.

Key products were the Colour crush lipstick in 105 coral cutie (used with a flat brush for eyeliner), Moonstone eyeshadow (to brighten up the eyes), Honey bronze shimmering lip balm (to highlight cheeks and brows) and Colour crush lipstick in 320 berry in love (for a natural lip).

I loved this design and will definitely be recreating the look myself!

For SS14, Eugene Lin took inspiration from old Valkyrie mythology but kept his designs very modern and precise, ensuring once again that all the outfits were super wearable and feminine. On each individual piece, the details were subtle, but put together it was oh so beautiful.

Fabric cross overs were inspired by the folding of Valkyrie wings, slim line pencil skirts had loose pleats for movement and texture and fine feather prints added extra dimension to the collection. SS14 also saw the addition of handbags and shoes, and I'm now currently lusting after a pair of those gorgeous black and white heels!

What do you think about the new collection? Will you be recreating the makeup look at home?

  1. I loved this show, it was such a treat to watch. All the designs were so wearable, which makes a refreshing change from a lot of what LFW has to offer. I loved the cross detailing on the clutch bags especially, the way the models held them as they went down the runway was genius. xo
