The 'Carrie' necklace

When I think of name necklaces, the first thing that comes to mind is Carrie's gold necklace from Sex and the city. I loved how pretty it looked, so when I was offered the chance to get one of my own, I knew straight away which style I'd go for:

I got mine from Namenecklace*, and it came beautifully presented in a gift box, all tied up with a pretty purple bow. The necklace was made from 925 sterling silver, and it came with a 45cm figaro chain. The ordering process was nice and simple, and the necklace arrived within a week, which is pretty impressive considering it was custom made.

Now if you follow me on Facebook/Instagram, you'll know that my first reaction was one of disappointment. The loop at the end was far too big for my liking, and almost made my name look like 'Ted'. Since then, I've had the chance to try it out with various outfits, and I've grown to like it more. I'd still prefer if the loop wasn't there, but I don't mind it now, and just like Carrie, the necklace has become part of my everyday wardrobe.

It's worth mentioning that the website has a pdf of all the letters so you can see what your necklace will look like. At the time, I was concerned about the end letter, but as I really wanted the 'Carrie' style, I decided to go ahead and order it anyway.

Overall, I'm not 100% happy with the style of my necklace, but I am impressed with the quality of silver and the speed at which they delivered. I would still recommend them if you wanted a custom necklace, but learn from my mistake and think very carefully about how your name will look in your chosen style.
