Although I don't mind silicon shampoos, over time they can build up in my hair, causing it to become limp and greasy. The Boots expert build up removal shampoo first came to my attention when Zoella reviewed it on her blog and having used it a few times, I can see why it has so many positive reviews.
It has a fresh herby scent and foams up really well, so you don't need to use much each time. It rinsed out easily and after a while my hair feels squeaky clean. Despite being a detox shampoo, it doesn't dry out my hair and it's still really smooth and silky. Although it doesn't give me more volume (nothing ever does) it does keep my hair from getting greasily as quickly. I tend to use this on a weekly basis and it really does to keep my hair from being weighed down by all the silicon and city pollution!
Because I was so impressed with the shampoo, I decided to give the Boots expert dry shampoo a go when I ran out of Batiste, but unfortunately it turned out to be a disappointment.
Its less fragranced than the Batiste (which I prefer) but I found that the particles in the spray were too fine. Although it might be good for adding texture, it really didn't do anything to refresh my hair and I will be sticking to Batiste in the future.
Have you tried anything from the Boots expert range? Are there any products that you would recommend?
Squeaky clean and detox shampoo... they just sound too good, I'll have to try this!

I once had a travel size of that shampoo and liked it, but never re-purchased. I may have to give it another try.

Thanks!
I don't have a Boots where I live (and I haven't tried yet the foot cream you sent me for winning your giveaway), but those products sure looks great!
ReplyDeleteTo remove buildups in my hair, I mix bicarbonade soda with my regular shampoo, and voila! Weightless and voluminous hair again (=
CinereaBellFlower- I didn't realise it came in a travel size as well, that would be so useful! x
ReplyDeleteGaby- Are there Boots stores in Canada? I'll have to try the bicarbonate soda trick sometime, thanks for the tip. I really hope you like the Botanics cream x
I tried the Build Up Remover shampoo last year - it was great and such a bargain :) x
ReplyDeleteI bought the dry shampoo before and I too didn't like it. It wasn't as effective as Baptiste and the can didn't last as long either. But other Expert products I have tried have been great like the hair lightening cream which is better and cheaper then Jolen.
ReplyDeleteLilyLipstick- Its fab isn't it? Definitely an under-rated product x
ReplyDeleteMeeta- Trust me to try one of the bad products lol. They have such a huge range of toiletries! x
It looks interesting

I don't know if this counts but I bought an eye cream from this range when it was on offer, it ran out in six months. A few weeks into me using it, it started to smell like wood so I chucked it.
ReplyDeleteI've never read much positive about this range but I do need a good clarifying shampoo..
Ooh i may have to give this a go.. Great review! :) xo
